Happy New Year !!!

Good Evening!!! It has been about a year and 1/2 since I have BLOGGED.. Oh My ! I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and is bringing in the New Year responsibly :)

As we bring in the New Year I do have to reflect on a year full of blessings and lessons... I cant help but to think about everyone that has lost loved ones this year as well. Children having to start a new year with out a parent. Parents having to start the year without a child, divorces, etc. The list could go on and on, but as I look back at this year I think of allot of heartache for allot of people I know. I pray that the new year brings all of you many blessings & from my family to yours Happy New Year !!!!

I Get It !!!!

I think I finally understand !!!!
Authority + Fear = Respect!!!!
If there is no respect & there is no fear in your authority then you have .....
Nothing !
Raising children does not come with a "How To" pamphlet !!! So most of the time us as parents try to do our best, we have the best intentions and hope we are doing the right thing.. But, most often we as parents are going to make mistakes, mess up a situation, or just throw our hands up and give up! Not every child is the same either, what may work on one child will not necessarily work on the next.
Parents/Adults are human, we don't know everything and honestly don't know how to handle every situation we are faced with.
So with that in mind the next time you want to criticize how someone reacts, handles or decides an outcome of a situation remember that what works for 1 does not always work for the other.
I do believe that fear & respect play a huge roll in disciplining. If your child does not have a small since of fear from you, you will then not get any respect from that child.
Think about it... Who do you fear? Now ask yourself if you respect that person??? I'm about 99% sure your answer is yes!
This is just a little something I needed to get off my chest, I as a parent am still a work in progress and admit I have and will most likely make more mistakes in parenting, but I can tell you this I will not make the same mistake twice!
Patience, Peace & Happy Parenting!

Taelor Senior Prom !!!

Taelor had her Senior Prom Thursday night.
She looked absolutely AMAZING!!! A group of them got a Limo. This was them arriving :)

I know she had an awesome time. She went with her BFF for LIFE Josh ! They went to the prom together last year too. They are so cute together.

This time next month we will be doing another Graduation :( Taelor will graduate and start the next chapter of her life.
I know she will do awesome in whatever she decides to do. She has a personality that will take her FAR and also has the ambition to get whatever she wants done!

These are the only pictures that turned out, due to Brittany's camera was messed up and all the others are blurry. Taelor's mom took a bunch of pictures and as soon as we get some of those I will post them as well.

My Pinterest Easter!!!

If you have not heard o Pinterest yet, you are so missing out!! Pinterest is a website that you can go to and get anything from recipes to decorating ideas to do it yourself ideas. Well when I knew we were going to do Easter dinner here I decided to put some of the things I seen on Pinterest to the test! Everything turned out just as I wanted it to!!! Here are some of the things I did. These are all MY punctures of the stuff Erin & I did :)
If you can't tell what each of the pictures are I will explain.
We made a Peeps cake, our plastic ware rolled up to look like carrots, my home made center piece made out of eggs, grass and peeps, flowers in mason jars with fresh lemons, yarn eggs, and then a couple pics of my table once all of the food was done. The only thing I forgot to take a picture of was my bunny ear bread that was made out of breadsticks :(
I just LOVE a party, from decorating, to coming up with the party food, to the games. We did not hunt eggs this year either because the kids are all getting older. We played games from egg toss, relay races and even an optical corse. We all had a great time.
I guess I could tell you how my day got started. I woke up at 5:45 so I could attend a local sunrise service. So I get up, get ready and put the ham in the oven before I leave. I get home to find that my oven is "luke" warm!!! My oven decides it does not want to work on another setting other than broil!!! So I continue to cook my ham on broil for the next 4 hours :( the devil tried to ruin my day, but I wasn't going to let him!!! I also said the blessing before our meal today which is a BIG deal for me because I don't like to pray out loud in front of people. I do have to say that I felt a calm come over me once I started praying!! That was the lord holding my hand as I prayed giving me the strength to do it!! It might not have been the most awesome prayer ever said, but I did it!!!! Today was a pretty awesome day I must say so!!!!

Six Flags

I took the day of of work yesterday and took Erin and her friend Bentley to Six Flags. Besides the fact that we froze our booties off the first part of the day it was real fun. It was so cold I ha to buy a jacket there. I was smart enough to have the girls get jackets that I did not even think to grab myself one :(
Anyways, we all had a great time and it was Christian Music Weekend and we got to see Tenth Avenue North in concert while we were there.
I hope everyone has a great Easter with there friends & family. I am blogging from my phone, but will try my best to blog tomorrow as Taelor has her prom Thursday night and I want to share her pictures with y'all. Have a good night and a wonderful Easter!

Today was a very productive day I think. I was able to take my car to the Kia place and get my scotch guard done, and then Erin and I came home sat around for awhile during the monsoon of rain that we had.
My best part of the day was purchasing our season Six Flag tickets on easy pay!!! Yeah Me!!! Erin loves going to six flags and we usually only go about 2 times because it's so dang expensive, but I got season passes for us this year!!! She was so excited she was like ... "I wanna go tomorrow" hee hee !!!! I was so excited I was texting everyone and telling them because it was for today only!!!
So with all that said we have season passes!!! I know it's not Disney, but it's better than nothing. Although my 2 kids have never been to Disney so if anyone feels the desire to change that let me make it known I am perfectly fine with that :) :)
Brittany is all packed and ready to head to Tuscaloosa tomorrow to see a certain someone. She has never driven away like this on her own before and I am a nervous wreck!!! Just pray she has safe travels and returns home safe and sound on Sunday :)
Its just me and Erin the next couple of days. Plan on spending this time trying to make some memories as she will be grown before I know it too :( :(

You did IT !!!

Erin tried out for JV Cheerleader in February and after a very long week of practicing, practicing and more practice she made it !!! So was so excited :)
They found out on a Friday night and after they all found out they went on a scavenger hunt and then went to the house of the cheer sponsor. Where she had pizza, cake and games waiting for them. So after a long week of nerves, and saying and doing the cheers 1000000 times they were able to meet everyone, eat and enjoy themselves. She had so much fun and is so excited for this upcoming year of cheering :)
I do have to say a BIG Thank YOU to Shelby Martin for helping Erin during the week of tryouts. She worked with Erin and a couple of the other girls that whole week and put so much into helping them get all of there moves right I can not thank her enough for her help. We LOVE you Shelby Martin :) :)
