Yesterday morning started out as everyother day... Except that night were the Majorette try-outs.. When I finally got to the school so I could be there to support her she was already upset that she had dropped the baton twice in the group routine.. She still had her individual routine to do for captain and co-captain try-outs...
So I tried to get her to get herself back together for the individual routine. Long story short she composed her self and went to do her individual.. She came out in tears... her CD skipped and she had to start over like 3 times and she was so flustered and upset that she messed up on her individual routine too.. She was so upset.
The pictures on here are of Brittany, Cherika and Elizabeth.. They all were on the squad last year along with Jodi (not pictured). They all 4 tried out for the captain and co-captain openings. All 3 girls came back to our house to eat pizza and wait on the results that were posted on the web site. After hours of waiting.. The other girls ended up leaving. Thank God, because about 5 minutes after Elizabeth left the results came in.. go see for yourself.http://www.beulahband.com/ go to the visuals and you will see the results.
Brittany did not make captain or co-captain.. She was devastated. She locked herself in her room and later last night we talked and she of course was and still is upset, mad, embarrassed & confused. She is the oldest on the squad and is so upset that with her being the oldest she did not make captain or at least co-captain. We are very happy Cherika made it. She is the one that went with us to Savannah a couple of weeks ago. Brittany is talking about quitting, because of not making captain or co-captain. I told her I would support her in whatever she wanted to do, however I did not believe in quitting, but would be there for her if she really wanted to. I also told her that this is NOT the end of the world.. Life goes on and she must hold her head up high and move on. I know Monday will be rough for her when they announce it at school and everything, but the worst thing she could do would to give attitude or show how upset she really is. She must smile, hold her head up, and act as if nothing is wrong with her. I do believe that is the best way to handle it. If anyone has any better ideas please let me know. I am a newbie with heartache in a teenager..

Peace :)

I know she was heart broken. I can honestly say I have been there, more than once. At Shaw they would come into your classroom with roses and get you if you made the squad, and well you know I didn't and the girl next to me of course did. It's just awful, but you are SO right about holding your head hi and being happy for the others. She will grow strong form this experience I promise!!
