Reality Check

I work in a Pediatric office everyone knows this...Well working in a Pediatric office you see things or hear about things that are sometimes not always good. Children with cancer, children born with major health problems, children that may not make it through the night. When you hear these things you have to stop for a moment and do a personal reality check.

Everyone one of us need to be thankful for the healthy children we have. And pray for the ones that are dealing with these issues. Before I worked in a pediatric office I would have never known some of this stuff even existed or even knew what it was. You look at these parents and wonder how they manage to function and make it everyday dealing with what they are going through. And then the children, how they stay so strong too.

I just wanted each of us to be thankful and grateful for what we have. And if we just put ourselves in these peoples shoes for 1 day I guarantee we would have much more appreciation for them and ourselves.

Lets not only focus on the sickness that we could have in our lives, but the greed as well... I am the first one to tell you I wish I had a new car. It looks like a "cheese it" and it has over 70 thousand miles on it now and it is not a quiet ride. Just cant stand the car, but I could have it way worse. I could have a car with no heat or air conditioning. Or I could not have a car at all. I could be one of these people that is about to loose there home due to forecloser. I have to tell myself that when things are bad they could be worse. You know I am truly blessed in every aspect of my life. I think each one of us needs a personal reality check every now and then. With Thanksgiving coming up and all of the focus being taken off of that and everyone worrying about Christmas and what they are going to buy..... We first need to be thankful for what we have!
