Attitudes & Personalities

Everyone everyday comes across someone somewhere that may rub them the wrong way, get on there nerves, may be rude, disrespectful, or just plain out mean. Whatever the case you get what I am saying and know what I mean. So lets talk about this for a minute....

I am currently reading a book (self help) that is titled "One Month to Live" and in this book it of course has a chapter in it about this subject. I have read it over and over and have come to terms with some past people and have moved on, forgiven or whatever you want to call it. However, there are still people in your life that you deal with, put up with and just tolerate if you must know. In the book it calls these people "sandpaper" people. These people are abrasive, painful at times, rub you the wrong way and get under our skin. How are we to deal with these people??? Good Question?? The book does not really answer that question. (go figure) I do believe that these people are put in our lives for a reason, maybe to make our tolerance level larger? To make us more aware of our flaws in our personalities? You know we have this perception that everyone is to be like us, act like us, have some of the same interests, laugh at the same jokes, however that is what makes everyone different I guess and maybe the sandpaper people in our lives are here for us to know this??? I may be a sandpaper person in your life and YOU may be one in someone elses life... We will never know!

I think I just covered the Personalities part...There are also other personalities in the book. I just touched on one!

Attitudes: Same concept I guess...However, I believe in treating people the way I would want to be treated. I may not be in a good mood, however I will speak to you, smile and give you eye to eye contact when I am speaking with you. That should be a requirement (making eye contact) when you are speaking to someone or if someone is speaking to you I think it is just common courtesy to look at them while they are talking to you and acknowledge that they are speaking to you. I think that is the rudest thing ever!!! Everyone sometime or another has had a bad day, whether it is the lady at the checkout lane, the waitress at the restaurant or the bank teller, you can over look these people and move on and just leave it as they are having a bad day. A friend of mine and I were talking about this and it is when you deal with someone regularly or if it is someone that is in your life daily is when you can say they have attitude.... These are the people that you know are just plain out rude or basically just having a bad day everyday. What do you do??? Good question again? This one I do not have an answer to. I need your help on this one. Do you over look these people? Just deal with them and accept them for who they are? What?

Have a good one!
Amy

I smile and am polite and when they walk away I roll my eyes so far back in my head that I black out. Works everytime. If it's on the phone I roll them while they are rambling. It's kinda fun!! I'll teach the perfect eye roll next week!!
