Update & Band Banquet

First lets update you on Granny status. Friday, Chance took her home and got her settled. I came at lunch and got the run down of what was going on. Chance had to go to work so I ended up staying the rest of the afternoon with her. I got all of her appts. scheduled with her doctors and we got the rehab place scheduled to come out yesterday. They also brought her machine for her leg that moves it and such so she can get exercise on it. I went to the store and bought her Colonial bread, her 2% milk and bananas. She insisted on these exact items. I think she is all settled now. She has a friend that will be staying with her at night and she has enough friends and such that will keep her company during the day and I can go over there at lunch during the week. So Granny is on her way to recovery.
Second, Lets see where do I start??? Brittany had her band banquet Friday night. OMG!! You know I live in BU-FU Alabama, but my goodness. What comes to mind when you think of Banquet??? Let me tell you what there version of a banquet was. Our menu consisted of (are you ready??) Pizza rolls, little cocktail sausages, and here is the kicker- 1 chicken strip per person. (because they told you as you walked through the line) "We have to make sure there is enough for everyone" I have never in my life seen such a redneck way of serving food. And believe me I do watch My Redneck Wedding on CMT. This was up there with one of there shows. I probably could have taped it and made some money. Besides the food everything else was okay besides her geeky friends, I am going to admit it. My child is a full fledged Band Geek. These guys that sat with us at the table talked about playing some war chess game on there DS or whatever hand held game it was, they were even trying to figure out if the tables were 30ft. apart so they could play each other during the banquet. I have never wanted to laugh out loud in some kids face before in my life. I told Brittany after we left 2 hours later that there is no convincing me that she is not a dork. We laughed all the way home about everything we had just experienced. She did get an award for the most improved majorette, she was surprised she did not know she was going to get anything.
Erin had 2 games yesterday and they won both of them. They have one more game left on Monday and then they are off to All Stars!!!!
Hope you have a good Sunday!!!

I am laughing my @$$ off reading this! It sounds like Napaoleon Dynamite or something. I love it. I would MUCH rather my kids be dorks and like their life than always trying ot the be best, cutest, most popular etc. GOOD FOR HER! I am still laughing... Oh and girl, I can't believe you are at the point in your life where you are taking care of a parent/grandparent. Doesn't that feel so bizarre? When it's my turn, I'm gonna be all, oh your wiping your own @$$ M'fer!! miss you!
