Hello Monday!!

If you are anything like me, you cant stand Mondays. They are the slowest day of the week. They just drag by.

Today is worse than normal, for some reason I have not been able to sleep at night and I am so tierd today.

Anywho, I do have a topic I would like to discuss.

Hoiti-Toiti- definition (someone that likes to expliot there social status or make sure you know there last name means something), little back ground one of the physicians I work for has alot of higher end patients- in other words alot of his patients have money and a well to do last name.

Want to know what bugs me??? They will call our office and want to speak with David, (physicains first name) they dont even call him Dr. ???? Or if you dont tell them what they want to hear they say " I will just call David myself"

Most of them are so demanding and rude!!! However you do have a select few that have lots of money and social status and you would never know it. But, the majority of them are so hoiti-toiti you cant stand it. For your northern people reading this, I really have no comparission for you, I am sure most of you think Reese Witherspoon sweet southern thing when you think of southern females. That is not the case for most of these females.

One day last week one of the hoiti-toiti patients called at like 4:45 and wanted something called in, well the Dr. was still seeing patients and we have to wait until he is done seeing patients before we go over messages with him, this patient comes to the office and starts banging on the front door because it was after 5:00 we had allready locked up, mind you we still had patients in the office also, we open the door and they want to know why we have not called anything in yet, we expliained that Dr. was still seeing patients and we had to wait until he was done.

The mother proceeds to tell us that she just seen David leave the office and wanted something called in. There was no arguing with her she was positive she seen David leave the office. So we made her wait outside until he was done with last patient and told him what happened. Dr. walked outside and you know she felt so stupid because she was certian that he had left the office and here he comes walking outside. I wished I could have seen her face. But, they are so rude like that not beleiving anything we say like we are lying about him being in the office.

I had one lady tell me she was going to call David at home because I had sent her to collections. He was at home sick, told her this and she said she was still calling him.

Okay I will get off of my soap box, but it really bothers me, these people put there britches on the same way I do and have to go to the bathroom just like everyone else.

I have tons of other stories, but not enough time to tell them all.

Oh, I do have to tell you this one, Patient in the waiting room, Dr's cell phone rings - Parent is in

the waiting room and calling Dr. to ask how much longer it is going to be he has been in waiting room for about 30 minutes. Come on, who has the guts to do this???

Remind you we are a pediatric practice and when it comes to your kids you do get a little restless, however how far have you gotten in life by being mean and rude?!!

My Question: What makes someone think they are better that you, just because of social status or how large there bank account is??
